APC lawmakers in Ekiti Assembly have served Governor Ayo Fayose an impeachment notice and have given him seven days to respond.

The 18 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly who have been on self-exile in Lagos state, have agreed to commence investigations into allegations of grave misconduct against the governor. One of the legislators in Ekiti told Sahara Reporters, “We are going to look at the allegations against Governor Fayose in a responsible manner and make our decision in line with the rule of law and the overall interest of the people of the state.”

This will make it the second time Mr. Fayose has come under the hammer of impeachmen, if he is evetually impeached this time.
You will recall that the Governor who was controversially impeached 2006, came back with a landslide victory in last year's gubernatorial election. But since the inception his present reign as second time governor, has continued to flaunt controversy suggesting that he has learnt little or nothing from his first impeachment.
