Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in the 19 Northern States has
hailed the declaration of a state of emergency by President Goodluck
Jonathan in three northern states saying that it did not come to it as a
surprise considering the degree of destruction the dreaded Islamic
sect, Boko Haram had inflicted on the country.
In his initial reaction on telephone last night, the spokesman of the CAN in the North, Elder Sunday Oibe, said the action of the president had justified what Northern Christians had been saying all these years that there is an urgent need to curtail the activities of the sect in the region.
