Reports reaching us is saying that Zulus have once more acted to the billing. Whoever bettted that they would behave rudely once more may have just won a Jackpot right now.
A large crowd most of whom are Zulus had thronged to witness the Imbizo being held by the traditional of the Zulus and witnessed by other important personalities in regards to the current xenophobic attacks against being balmed on King Goodwill.
The crowd however started booing every speaker who was not Zulu speaking; the notable among many of such ugly incidents was when a Hindu priest, Ashwin Trikamjee was reciting a prayer.
They actually wanted Trikamjee to get off the stage and even clapped when he finally stepped down.
The MEC Mike Mabuyakhulu urged the crowd to calm down but to no avail. “Please, people, these are just prayers. Please behave yourselves,” said the MEC. The crowds continued to boo priests who were not Zulu.
You will recall that South African is still trying to curtail the violent xenophobic attacks that started since past three weeks but went viral like wild fire last week.
The incidents had been blamed on a hate speech made by the traditional head of the Zulu tribe, calling on foreigners to go home.
