Earlier today we reported a story HERE about a student, Nicci Redelinghuys, who reportedly took a series of selfies while driving.
She has however denied ever taking the pictures while driving and that it was just an “innocent private joke” that went sour.
Redelinghuys had posted “selfie” photos of herself driving in various poses, which raised the ire of road safety and community activism groups when they went viral.
Her father told News24 on Thursday that she had been grounded after he confiscated her phones and car, and shut down her social media accounts.
But she decided to issue a statement from her Facebook account, in which she responded to the “social media rage”. She regretted her actions while apologizing to the public for forgiveness.
She also appealed to her family to pardon her for the stress she caused them through all this and advised the youth to desist from emulating and repeating her act which would pose a danger to road users.
