A pedestrian bridge has collapsed on a cab on Sunday in Kano, Nigeria killing the driver and the passengers on the spot. Seven persons in total died when the uncompleted pedestrian bridge at Dorayi quarters in Kano state collapsed on them at about 4.45pm.
According to reports, construction workers had warned the taxi driver and pedestrians not to pass under the bridge as it was still under construction but they ignored the warning and as soon as the taxi driver drove under the bridge, it caved in, fallimg on the taxi killing the driver, its passengers and other pedestrians. The bodies of the victims have been deposited at a hospital mortuary.
