According to reports Boko Haram members Wednesday evening launched fresh attacks in Maiduguri, Borno state. The sect members entered the town through an area known as "Cashew Plantain" which is behind Giwa Barracks, housing the 7th Division of the Army. Residents say were taken unawares as the sect members stormed their community, shooting sporadically and causing everyone to run for safety. Nigerian troops reportedly engageg them in a serious gun battle.
