The Troublesome Burundi Government has arrested of three of the major actors in what has come to be an attempted coup against the President Pierre Nkurunziza led government. The arrested coup plotters includes an army general and former defence minister, Gen Cyrille Ndayirukiye.
However the general, Godefroid Niyombare that allegedly led and announced the coup has not been sighted anywhere. The general had promised to surrender but feared being killed, saying:"I hope they won't kill us"
The President is expected to address the nation later today.
