Yesterday’s coup or an attempt as we were meant to believe in Burundi may have deepened the crises in the war-torn African country. Reports reaching us show that the nations military have divided into factions, each loyal to the power gladiators. Fighting is currently taking place between a faction of the military loyal to the President and the that of the Army General that declared the coup yesterday.

The faction of soldiers loyal to the president is reportedly having an upper hand, as they are in full control of the Presidential palace, the airport, national media structures including a major part of the nation’s capital. The president’s condition has remained unknown as most of the media houses have not not been spared of the attacks since the beginning of this crises.

However the African Union Peace and Security Council will be having an emergency meeting this afternoon to discuss and analyze the situation in the country.
