President Goodluck Jonathan is reported to have stopped the Peoples Democratic Party from contesting the outcome of the presidential election won by Muhammadu Buhari. It was previously reported that the PDP will challenge the results of the polls in court according to the legal procedure.
This claim is coming after Jonathan had personally congratulated the All Progressives Congress politician on the victory.
The report has it that instead of planning a court case in the Tribunal, the Presidency is opting for setting up a Transition Committee by Tuesday next week. Yemi Osinbajo is reportedly to head the APC team which will be part of the committee ahead of the May 29 transition.
President Jonathan, who has been highly praised by Nigerian and world leaders for conceding defeat, said going to the tribunal will make a rubbish of this sportsmanship spirit he has set on record.
