A man has shot dead his girlfriend in St. Paul, Minnesota. The man, 21-year-old Dimitri Harrell was arrested for the shooting to death of his girlfriend.
Police source has said that Harrell shot 19-year-old Samirria White, while she was holding their 3-month-old baby.
Harrell reportedly claimed that he accidentally fired the gun while they were arguing. White was shot in the head at close range, the coroner’s office said.
There were several people inside the apartment when Harrell and White began arguing around 3:40 a.m., authorities said.
The woman’s 16-year-old brother heard the two screaming in their bedroom, and he listened as his sister shouted “Don’t point that gun at me,” according to the police. Then the teenager heard a gunshot. He ran into the room and told Harrell to get away from his sister. Harrell told the 16-year-old boy that he had no intention of firing the gun, which he bought a few days before the incident. White later died from her injuries. Their 3-month-old baby however was unhurt.
